Their functions include :

Storage of food and water

Allows gaseous exchange

Provides rigidity to softer parts of the plant

Stores waste products like resins, gum, crystals etc.

Chlorenchyma - Parenchyma with chloroplast, performs photosynthesis

Aerenchyma - Parenchyma with large air cavities that provides buoyancy to aquatic plants
