x + 4y = 6
2x + 8y = 12

Infinite.
Multiply the first equation by -2 to get rid of whatever variable. Lets say I wanted to get rid of the variable X to solve for Y. To do that, I'd need to make x, -2x. Now the equation is -2x -8y = -12. If you add the two equations together, you'd get 0 = 0, meaning there are infinite solutions.
