The mean is 23

The median is 22

Explanation:

To find the mean you have to do 2 steps:

Step 1: Add up all your numbers:

31 + 14 + 26 + 17 + 32 + 18

= 138

Step 2: Divide you answer by how many numbers there are(6):

138 ÷ 6

= 23

Now to find you median

First put the numbers in order:

14, 17, 18, 26, 31, 32

Now grab the middle number and since there are an even amount of numbers grab the 2 middle numbers:

14, 17, 18, 26, 31, 32

Now add the 2 numbers:

18 + 26

= 44

The last step is to divide your answer by 2:

44 ÷ 2

= 22
