They are important because the shahada represents faith and trust to their god. The salah is prayer is their 5 daily prayers and the ( I think its pronounced like Zakat) is charity were the Muslims volunteer and give money. And the sawn is fasting it is suppose to seek nearness and forgiveness from god.
