It is better to spend a little more money on minimally processed foods because it will give you an edge over buying cheaper ultra-processed foods. Minimally processed foods still contain essential nutrients that are good for your body even after a little bit of processing while ultra-processed foods contain so many preservatives (sodium, sugar and fat) that could give you a lot of health risks. In the long run, buying ultra-processed foods may lead to cancer and other chronic diseases that will further lead to many hospital visits and higher hospital bills. If you see the big picture, you can actually save more if you spend a little more money on minimally processed foods. It will also give you a better quality of life.
