Answer:

The dust bowl was a time when plants wouldn't grow and root into the ground. The soil was really loose and unstable and caused many farmers to lose their jobs. Sand and dirt would come in through the cracks in peoples doors, floorboards, and windows. To survive farmers started to develop crops that were more drought resistent and required less water.
