Answer:

1.43 hours

Explanation:

Given that:

Speed of plane A = 40 mph

Speed of plane B = 100 mph

Distance between plane A and B = 200 m

In how many hours will they meet?

Recall :

Distance = speed * time

Let the time traveled by each plane = t

Since the total distance apart = 200m

Hence,

Plane A distance + Plane B distance = total distance

40t + 100t = 200

140t = 200

Divide both sides by 140

140t / 140 = 200 / 140

t = 1.4285 hours

t = 10/7 hours or 1.43 hours
