Jamie's father has to build a corral for her new pony. The plan shows the length of the sides of the corral. Jamie's father says that the fence posts must be ten feet apart

The post must be 10 feet apart, the width of the corral is 50 feet and the length is 30 feet.

Each width sides get 6 posts and the length get 2 posts each.

therefore the total number of posts needed for the corral is;

= perimeter of a rectangle

= 2 ( l + w) / 10 feet apart

= 2 ( 50 + 30) / 10

= 160/10

= 16 posts
