The two types of third person narrators are:

• Third person limited

Can only go into the minds of one or two characters. The ability of the narrator to step into the all the characters’ shoes is LIMITED.

• Third person omniscient

The narrator can tap into the minds of ALL the characters. He/she sees all and knows all. The narrator is NOT limited in his/her knowledge of the characters or their experiences.
