Disadvantages of a light microscope against electron microscope

electron microscope have a range of disadvantages as well:

. they are extremely expensive

. sample preparation is often much more elaborate......

. the sample must be completely dry.

. it is not possible to observe moving specimens ( the are dead)

. it is not possible to observe colour.

Disadvantages. Maximum magnification of 1500x. Specimen may be disfigured during preparation to be viewed under the microscope. The resolving power is 1 nm for biological specimens. Only has a resolution of 0.2 μm - which is relatively poor in comparison to other microscopes. Meanwhile, electron microscopes have a much higher range of magnification (can detect smaller structures), and have a much higher resolution (can provide clearer and more detailed images).
