Answer:
It is so refreshing on a sizzling summer day to jump on our jet skis and head out to the lake, riding as fast as we can with the wet spray on our faces and the prop kicking up a spray of water like a rooster’s tail. The lake is breathtaking when the sun hits it, glittering like diamonds on a blue silk cloth. One time my dad forgot to put the drain plugs back in the jet skis and we started out into the lake, but we slowly started to sink, and the engines became waterlogged and quit. I was much younger then and I was scared! We got help from another boater who jumped in the lake to help us put the plugs in. He towed us to the boat ramp with a rope hooked to our jet ski. We had to push the jet skis onto the trailer and take them home for repair. We were extremely lucky that boater was on Gun Lake that day. He was a stranger who left a significant mark in my life, showing me how important it is to help others, asking for nothing in return.
