If a country was underpopulated or overpopulated many problems would arise, relatively thinking it would seem nice to have a country seemingly underpopulated since that would mean less food is required to feed the whole of a nation and less money would be needed to spend for the country's population. However this could be farther from the truth in reality a country being underpopulated would mean less money being generated from the people compared to other countries since there is a smaller population and either the government is corrupt or living conditions are terrible to have a small amount of people living in that country. On the other side of things having a overpopulated country would mean more money is being generated in the country, (and continue on..)
