Question: What can you do the day before an outdoor workout to prevent heat illness?

Answer: There are many things you are able to do before workouts that prevent excessive sweating, shortness of breath, and other things that cause you to tire faster. For starters, things you can do the day before are studying the weather; you can't exactly workout outdoors if it's a boiling 105°. You can also go out and buy new clothing and sunscreen if you don't already have it. On the day of the workout, wear loosely fitting clothing [tank-top and shorts are a popular bet] and apply a thick layer of sunscreen. Keep plenty of water nearby to stay hydrated, make sure you can refill it if the time comes down to it. When it's all over, relax. Don't strain yourself too much, not even your brain. Go ahead and watch that TV show you've been dying to binge watch.

Uplifting Note: Did you know that otters will show predators their baby when they are in danger to have the predator show mercy? That's really adorable!
