write the equation of a line MN that contains Q(7,-2) and is parallel to y=2/5x-8/5

Answer:

y = 2/5x - 24/5

Explanation:

First, we can use the very simple formula

y = mx + b

We insert the slope (which is 2/5), but don't keep the "8/5" part, because we are supposed to find a line parallel to it.

We then have the equation y=2/5x + b

Insert the one point that we still have, and then do algebra.

2/5 * 7 = 14/5

-10/5 - 14/5 = -24/5

We have the equation y = 2/5x - 24/5
