Answer:

The literal definition is “The quantitative relationship between two quantities shows the number of times that one value includes or is inside the other.” An example would be 1 KitKat for every 2 Skittles(1:2) an equivalent ratio would be 2 KitKats for every 4 Skittles(2:4). Just like fractions in away for example 2/4(2:4) is equivalent to 1/2(1:2).

Explanation:

Let’s say there are 4 KitKats and 12 Skittles. You need to find the GCF(Greatest Common Factor) of 4 and 12 is 4. So you divide the numbers by 4 or the GCF.4÷4 = 1 : 12÷4=3. 1:3

or a simpler version away I use is 4:12 as a fraction 4/12 and then simplify it to 1/3 and put it in ratio format 1:3.

Answer: Two ratios that have the same value are called equivalent ratios. To find an equivalent ratio, multiply or divide both quantities by the same number. It is the same process as finding equivalent fractions.
