I believe it could be this because it is well hard to find out but with roots hairs it is a hair forming cell on the epidermis of a plant root. They can be found only in a region of maturation of the root, also the structures will allow the plant to get water and nutrients from the soil.

Root hair cells are outgrowths at the tips of the plants roots. They function solely to take up water and mineral salts. Root hair cells do not perform photosynthesis, and do not contain chloroplasts as they are underground and not exposed to sunlight.
