Why is this number not in scientific
notation?
36.5 x 10^6

For a number to be in scientific notation, a number between 1 and 10 has to be multiplied by a power of 10.

36.5 is not between 1 and 10, alternatively, you can rearrange it:

3.65 x 10^7 <----This would be the correct scientific notation
