It shouldn't, but I'm sure it does. Our appearance gives people a clue to how careful we are about the way we look if it does nothing else.

Employers don't give job hunters very much time. Those giving the jobs have very few clues about what kind of person is in front of them. One of the quickest ways to find out about someone is to look at clothing, makeup, hair style, nail color and other external details. It shouldn't be done, but it is.
