Complete question is;

A family of 6 is visiting a mall. The mall has 10 exit doors. Assume random selection. Find the probability that

a. No family member chooses the same exit door.

b. Every family member chooses the same exit door.

Answer:

A) 0.6

B) 0.1

Explanation:

A) We are told there are 10 exit doors and the family consists of 6 people.

This implies that for them not to choose the same exit door there will be 6 different doors they will pass.

Thus;

Probability that the no family member chooses the same exit door = 6/10 = 0.6

B) If they all choose the same exit door, it means only 1 out of the 10 exit doors will be used by them.

Thus;

Probability that every family member chooses the same exit door = 1/10 = 0.1
