What is the volume of a prism which has a base of 5\text{ m}5 m5, start text, space, m, end text by 3\text{ m}3 m3, start text, space, m, end text, and a height of 4\text{ m}4 m4, start text, space, m, end text?

Given:

Dimensions of the base of the prism = 5 m by 3 m

Height of the prism = 4 m

To find:

The volume of the prism.

Solution:

We know that, volume of the prism is


V=Bh

where, B is base area and h is height of the prism.

Base area of the prism is


B=5* 3=15\text{ m}^2

Now, volume of the prism is


V=15* 4


V=60

Therefore, the volume of the prism is 60 sq. m.
