Given:

The ratio of the number of blueberry muffins to corn muffins was 8:5.

The ratio of corn muffins to poppy seed muffins was 4:3.

There were 150 poppy seed muffins.

To find:

Difference between blueberry muffins and poppy seed muffins.

Solution:

We have,

Blueberry : Corn = 8:5 = 32:20

Corn : Poppy seed = 4:3 = 20:15

So, Blueberry : Corn : Poppy seed = 32 : 20 : 15.

Let the number of Blueberry, Corn and Poppy seed muffin be 32x, 20x and 15x respectively.

There were 150 poppy seed muffins.

15x=150

x=10

Now,

Blueberry muffin = 32(10) = 320

Difference between blueberry muffins and poppy seed muffins is

320-150=170

Therefore, the blueberry muffins are 170 more than poppy seed muffins.
