Answer:

Explanation:

Step one:

Given data

Flowers to Go charges

let the number of roses be x

and the total cost be y

$2.5 for a rose

$9 for delivery

the total cost is

y=2.5x+9-------1

Blooms R Us charges

let the number of roses be x

and the total cost be y

$3.25 for a rose

$5 for delivery

the total cost is

y=3.25x+5--------2

Step two:

equating equations 1 and 2 we can solve for x, the number of flowers

2.5x+9=3.25x+5

2.5x-3.25x=5-9

-0.75x=-4

x=4/0.75

x=5.33

Therefore the minimum number of flowers is 5.33
