See the answer below

Step-by-step explanation:

Mitosis is a type of cell division that involves the somatic or vegetative cells of the body of organisms. Two daughter cells with the same gene and genome size as the parent cell are usually produced when a cell divides by mitosis. The process of division has 4 stages:

  • Prophase: the nuclear membrane of the cell dissolves and the genetic materials condense and are seen as chromosomes. Centrosomes move to the opposite poles and give off microtubules that attach to the chromosomes and grow towards the center of the cell.
  • Metaphase: the chromosomes align at the center of the cell and microtubules attach themselves to the kinetochore of each chromosome. There is a formation of the metaphase plate.
  • Anaphase: The shortening of the microtubules causes the separation of the sister chromatids of each chromosome and their movement to the opposite poles.
  • Telophase: the movement of chromosomes to the opposite poles is completed and the nuclear membrane reappears, Chromosomes also decondense.

Next is the division of the cytoplasm that results in the formation of two daughter cells. This process is called cytokinesis and completes the mitotic process.
