Explain how the global spatial pattern of Islam differs from the global spatial pattern of ethnic religions such as Hinduism.

To start off, Hinduism is an ethnic religion. Islam however is a universalizing religion. An ethnic religion itself primarily tries to appeal to one specific group, whist universalizing religion tries to appeal to people globally, hence the word "universal" in it.
