Answer:

the cost of cherry= $5

the cost of lemon= $10

Explanation:

let cherry pies be x

and lemon pie be y

total cost for Emily

4x+y=30------1

total cost for molly

8x+6y=100-----2

solve 1 and 2 simultaneously

4x+y=30------1

8x+6y=100---2

multiply 1 by 2

8x+2y=60------3

-8x+6y=100---2

0x-4y=-40

y=10

put y=10 in 1

4x+y=30------1

4x+10=30------1

4x=30-10

4x=20

x=20/4

x=5

the cost of cherry= $5

the cost of lemon= $10
