Mrs.Mason the art teacher is mixing red and yellow paint. The ratio of red to yellow is 3:5. How much red paint should be mixed with 20 ounces of yellow?

Divide total yellow by its ratio portion.

20/5 = 4


multiply that by the portion for red:

3 x 4 = 12


answer: 12 ounces
