original equation

2y-x=8\\-3x+2y=-12\\

line up your terms

2y-x=8\\\\2y-3x=-12

since they are both positive, subtract

2x=20

solve for x

x=10

substitute into one of the equations and solve for y

2y-(10)=8\\\\2y=18\\\\y=9

verify

2(9)-(10)=8\\\\18-10=9\\\\8=8\\\\LS=RS

-3(10)+2(9)=-12\\\\-30+18=-12\\\\-12=-12\\\\LS=RS
