To know that Function A has a smaller slope than Function B we need to find out the slope of function A and B.

Function A is y = x + 1. I would graph it on the desmos calculator and the line should pop up. Seeing the line is square points, the line can now identify with a slope of 1.

Function B I would do the equation y2-y1/x2-x1 and I got 1-17/-1-3 which is equal to 4. Now we know that the slope of B is 4.

So B is equal to 4 and A is equal to 1 meaning the second option is correct.
