Answer: x= 7/3 or Decimal Form: 2.333333....

First let's simplify 5^2 to make our lives easier 5^2 is 25 so the equation is.

25(x-2)+2x-4=9 *ALWAYS USE DISTRIBUTIVE PROPERTY*

so it becomes. 25x-50+2x-4=9 (25 because 25*x is 25x and 25*2 is 50)

(NOW COMBINE LIKE TERMS which means x goes with x and y goes with y ect)

*25x and 2x are like terms and 50, -4 and 9 are like terms*

so 25x+2x=27x

-50+=4= -54

the equation is now: 27x-54= 9 (now add 54 with the 9 to get 63)

27x=63 (now we just divide 63 by 27 to get 7/3)
