an arc of a circle is equal to the central angle subtended by the arc

central angle of arc ED = 50° ( vertically opposite angles )

then

arc ED = 50°

the central angle of arc BC = 180° - 40° - 50° = 180° - 90° = 90°

then

arc BC = 90°

the central angle subtended by arc AE = 180° - 50° = 130°

then arc AE = 130°

arc BED = arc BA + arc AE + arc ED = 50° + 130° + 50° = 230°
