Does anybody know this? A house casts a shadow that is 57 feet long at the same time a girl who is 4.7 feet tall casts a shadow that is 9.4 feet long how tall is the house do not round your answer

h = 28.5 ft

Explanation:

the 2 situations are similar, that is the triangles formed in both cases are similar.

then the ratios of corresponding sides are in proportion

let h be the height of the house , then


(4.7)/(h) =
(9.4)/(57) ( cross- multiply )

9.4h = 4.7 × 57 = 267.9 ( divide both sides by 9.4 )

h = 28.5 ft
