Step-by-step explanation:

As the plant did not die, it would need to produce food to continue to survive and to do this it will use the process of photosynthesis. Photosynthesis requires sunlight to work so the plant will grow towards the sun as it tries to get sunlight for Photosynthesis.

Also the presence of auxins will influence this growth as well. Auxins are hormones that promote growth in a plant but auxins do not like sunlight so they move to the darker side of the plant. This cause the darker side to grow more thereby tilting the plant towards the lighter side which grew less.
