Please Help! Spanish...

¿Por qué con algunos sustantivos femeninos como agua el artículo femenino la se transforma en él?

¿Utilizarías el o la con alma? ¿Por qué?

¿Utilizarías el o la con arena? ¿Por qué?

Answer:

If the noun/thing is masculine (male) or feminine (female) in Spanish, then the article changes. (ex. the woman = la mujer)

Step-by-step explanation:

There are 4 articles in Spanish, they are: la, las, el, and Los.

Los and las are used before plural nouns. Los is used with masculine plural words, and las is used with feminine plural words.

So if a Spanish word ends in a, it will be femenine (but not all!)

If a word ends in e, o, s, etc. It will become masculine.

Exceptions are ma, pa, and ta.
