Explanation: The Declaration of Independence was written to "break away" from British rule. After all, America was founded by persecuted groups wanting their own safe place to worship and live as they please. They still had to give Britain absurd amounts of taxes and other payments on daily goods, which they couldn't take anymore. So they got together and wrote this document to create a new country.
