We begin by cross-multiplying.

$(4x - 2)/(6) = (5)/(3) \\ \\ 3(4x - 2) = 6 * 5 \\ 12x - 6 = 30 \\ 12x = 30 + 6 \\ 12x = 36 \\ x = (36)/(12) \\ \\ x = 3$
