Please help I don’t understand

You'll have to use the distributive property, which means you multiply the number outside of the parenthesis. This makes the equation 20+2x-8. Then you sub in whatever is equal to x and solve.

12+2x

Explanation:

1. distribute

2(10)= 2*10

2(x-4)= 2x-8

2. combine like terms

20-8 =12

12+2x
