Slope-intercept form is

  • y = mx + b

y-intercept is 5 as per point (0, 5)

Using 2 of the points on the graph we can find the slope: (0, 5), and (1, 8)

  • m = (y2 - y1)/(x2 - x1)
  • m = (8 - 5)/(1 - 0) = 3/1 = 3

So the equation is:

  • y = 3x + 5
