Question :- What is the

radius of the Circle.

Given in figure:-

  1. Two perpendicular from each segment in the Circle
  2. length of the perpendicular = 3cm
  3. length of the half of one of the line segments in circles = 5cm

To Find:- Radius of the Circle.

Formula used :-

Pythagoras theorem

H²= P²+B²

  1. H= hypotenuse
  2. P = perpendicular
  3. B = Base

Explanation:-

  1. Draw a line segment joining the O and B point .Line segment will be equal to the Radius as it will join the center and circumference of circle

Now In ∆OBM

  1. base = 5cm
  2. perpendicular = 3cm
  3. Hypotenuse= radius = x

Using Pythagoras theorem:-

H²= P²+ B²

Putting the value in equation

{x}^(2) = {5}^(2) + {3}^(2) \\ {x}^(2) = 25 + 9 \\ {x}^(2) = 34 \\ x = √(34) = 5.83

Answer:-

Radius =x= √34 = 5.83
