Okay, so what you're basically doing is finding out how much salsa is in the pot. To me, it seems like a trick question.
If two quarts is 2 1/2 of salsa, and they're asking you how much salsa is one quart, you would probably want to simplify 2 1/2. That would come to 2/5. 2/5 simplified would be 0.4 in fractions would total to 1 1/4. That would be your answer.
