Answer: A. -4

Explanation:

From the y-intercept, normally you follow the slope -1/2 down 1 and 2 to the right. BUT since the y- intercept here is Negative 2, you have to do the opposite to get to the x-axis.

So starting at the y-intercept -2, go UP 1, Then LEFT 2, twice. The line will intercept the x-axis at -4.
