Answer:

a. 0.75 reams

b. The amount of reams received by each teacher would increase by 2.25 reams.

Explanation:

Total reams of copy paper = 6

Number of fifth-grade teachers = 8

a. Number of reams collected by each teacher =
(number of reams)/(number of teachers)

=
(6)/(8)

=
(3)/(4)

= 0.75 reams

b. Twice as many reams of paper = 2 x 6

= 12

Half as many teachers =
(1)/(2) x 8

= 4

Number of reams collected by each teacher =
(12)/(4)

= 3 reams

The amount of reams received by each teacher would increase by;

3 -
(3)/(4)

=
(12 - 3)/(4)

=
(9)/(4)

= 2.25 reams

The amount of reams received by each teacher would increase by 2.25 reams.
