Answer: quantity of water left over = 0.96 gallons

Explanation:

Given: Total quantity of water = 2.7 gallons

Water used for tomato plants = 0.98 gallons

Water used for peppers = 0.76 gallons

Total water used = 0.98 +0.76 = 1.74 gallons

Then, quantity of water left over = Total quantity of water - Total water used

= 2.7 - 1.74 gallons

= 0.96 gallons

Hence, quantity of water left over = 0.96 gallons
