What role did the diversity of the American population play in Woodrow Wilson’s decision to remain neutral during the first years of World War I?

Answer:

The American people were made up of many people, German, Irish, British, French etc. If he went on the Central Powers, the British and French people would be mad. If he went on the Allies, the Germans and Irish would be mad.
