Given:

In each of the four relations below, the x values represent inputs and the y values represent the corresponding outputs.

To find:

The relation which does not represent a function.

Solution:

A relation is a function if there exist a unique output for each input.

In options A, B and C, we get unique output for each input.

In option D, we get two outputs y=4 and y=-4 for input x=3.

Since, there exist more than one output values for a single input value, therefore it is not a function.

Therefore, the correct option is D.
