GIVEN :-

  • Initial velocity of body = 4 m/s
  • Acceleration = 1.2 m/s²
  • Distance covered = 20 m

TO find :-

  • Final velocity of the body
  • The time in which the body covers that distance

  • The average velocity og te body during the journey

According to the question,

i)

v² = u² + 2as

v² = 4² + 2 × 1.2 × 20

v² = 16 + 2 × 12/10 × 20

v² = 16 + 48

v² = 64

v = 8 ms - 1

So,the final velocity is 8 m/s

ii)

V = u + at

8 = 4 + 1.2 × t

8 - 4 = 1.2t

4 = 12/10 t

4 × 10 /12 = t

3.33 = t

So,the time is 3.33 seconds

iii)

Average velocity = Displacement/Time

20/3.33

6.006 ms - 1

So,the average velocity is

6.006 m/s
