Zhang got an email. It said it was from Apple. The email said there were charges to her account. Her name was spelt two different ways. She could see the bill by clicking on a link. Zhang wasn't sure this email was real. What would you do? Why?

answer:

I would ask them more, and if they were still acting weird I would report them if possible.

Step-by-step explanation:

Apple is a professional company. The name was spelled differently 2 times, which is definitely not something Apple would do. If they just said there would charges, I would ask more for more info. Whatever I would do, I wouldn't click on the link. It may grab an IP address. You can use an IP to shut down internet and find someones location, so it is very sensitive. The link may also lead to a virus. It may be harmful to the device and hard to remove. You can also just not answer. Another thing to do would be to check the E-mail it was coming from to see if it was official. I would also check if it looked professional and was grammatically and spelled all correct. If it had more than one of these things, I would report them because they would definitely not be Apple.

Answer:

I would not trust this email. If Apple were to send an email telling me about charges to my account, they would not send me a link about it. A common scam is getting someone to click a link to figure out their ip address, download a virus, etc. Plus, big corporations’ emails to customers are usually computer generated. That means the computer would just take the name from my apple account and spell it correctly both times, so this email was probably typed by a human. Therefore, I would not trust this email because Apple wouldn’t send a link or spell my name incorrectly.
