Explanation:

they tell us the length is 2 times the width plus 4 more so the equation for one of the lengths is

2x + 4, where 'x' is the value of one width. but, because there are two sides for each the length and the width, the final equation will be:

2(2x + 4) + 2(x) = 50

then simplify and solve for 'x'
