How can power and control differences in dating relationships contribute to violence?

The power someone can hold over another is violent within itself. Power control is serious, in many situations, it’s used to manipulate another person. Mind games, taking someone who is at their weakest point and exploiting them for one's own personal favours. Take an abusive relationship, for instance, the victim wants to leave but it is scared too. That is an example of power, the abuser has inflicted fear into victim so they won’t leave. Often you will see a power dynamic in cases of grooming. An adult will build a relationship with a child, gaining their trust, so they can manipulate and abuse them.
