Read the following passage, taken from a resolution adopted at the Women's Rights Convention of 1848, which was written in response to Stanton's declaration, and answer the question.

Resolved, That woman is man's equal – was intended to be so by the Creator, and the highest good of the race demands that she should be recognized as such.

Rewrite the above passage in modern language so that today's reader may more easily understand Stanton's intent.

Answer:

Both men and women are equal, no matter the race - they were created this way by God, and all women wish to be recognized by others as the equivalent of men.

I have the same question and here is what I put:

Women and men are equal, and it was intended to by God (or any other religious "father" another religion has) and that God (again, any other religious father) demands women should be treated as such.
