Subject: Civil Rights

- Crescent Theatre Entrance

What would it be like entering the back of the theatre all the time as African Americans did in 1939 in the south?

Thank you

African Americans were not being treated well, and especially when they went places it just got more worse.

Answer:

Since African Americans were treated badly already, it gets even worse when they go places. When they entered the back of the theater, they were harrassed, called names, spit on, ect. They also was limited to things and had a bad view in the theater. The bathrooms and water fountains were separated or segregated, which means Colored and White.
